April 2013 Wisdom Tips for Relationships, Finance and Health

When something has momentum it takes more of an effort to change its course, and less of an effort to move it in the direction it is already going. This is a tricky month as momentum will take hold in whatever direction you happen to be putting your focus and energy.

For example, if you are in a bad mood, that mood is in danger of gathering momentum. If you are focused on a creative project of your choosing, it will also gather momentum. It is very important that you are focused on the things you want in your life at this time for they are the ones that will gather momentum.

This is a highly creative and productive time. The challenge will be to stay directed and to have the discipline to move yourself out of situations and away from negativity that you would rather not be gathering momentum around. This will take discernment, the use of good boundaries and a commitment to some truth telling about what serves you and what does not.

If you find yourself in a downward spiral where everything seems to be falling apart in a big way, you may need to look at the truth of allowing something you have been holding onto to dissolve and leave your life. You may finally have the momentum to move yourself out of a situation that is not healthy or serving. On the other hand, a creative project that is aligned with spirit may have just been waiting for such a time to take off.

Whenever you have a great deal of creativity you also have destruction. Destruction as an energy can be used wisely this month as a way of cleaning and clearing and changing your environment to something more compatible. It can also be used as a tool to end something that needs to be completed. If however you are engaged in negative behaviors, bad attitudes and addictions, this destructive energy can turn against you and you could both experience and witness a very grim side of it. This month will be especially difficult for those who struggle with addictions.

With that said, however, it could also be an extremely positive month for those who have struggled with addictions in the past but are now willing to tell the truth and focus on changing their behavior at a deeper level. This willingness and determination to proactively create a better situation for themselves will gather momentum and has the potential for profound and permanent change. People with addictions will need a lot of support this month as the creative side of the month can offer many distractions that end up derailing good intentions.

Distractions will show up in the form of unimportant things vying for your attention. For example, if you suddenly find yourself fixated with how dirty your car is and begin the process of thoroughly cleaning it, this better be what you want to do with your time because it will gather momentum and you will not be available for something else that may be more important. PRIORITIZE this month and be disciplined about your priorities because if you are not, something will come in to distract you and gather up all your momentum and creativity. This is especially true around someone else’s project or situation. Make sure you are telling the truth to yourself about what you are willing to do and what is really a distraction that becomes an energy leak.

Take time to not only read these wisdom tips, but to apply them so you can reap the harvest of living your life with wisdom.

This is a good month to revisit the concept of energy leaks as a model to help you with organizing where your focus is and what serves you as opposed to what is distracting and non-serving. An energy leak is something that bleeds your vitality and gives nothing back. It can be a bad habit or behavior, unnecessary worry, a relationship that takes and never gives back, and any time your obstacle gets the better of you (Stubbornness, Impatience, Martyrdom, Self-Deprecation, Arrogance, Greed, Self-Destruction). Remember that MOMENTUM will attach itself to wherever you are focused this month so if it is to any one of these behaviors you may be in trouble. There is a difference between a true energy leak and a necessary responsibility. A necessary responsibility will ultimately lead you towards your goal, an energy leak will not.

Be aware and be present this month. If momentum is taking you in the wrong direction, examine it. If your truth tells you that dissolving is a good thing, allow it. If momentum is simply taking you in a negative direction, use your own inner discipline and determination to change it. Sometimes this is not easy so you may need to ask for help. We always recommend baby steps and this month even the baby steps will grab the momentum and move you quickly in the right direction.

As to the creativity, set some boundaries so you don’t bite off more than you can chew at this time. Make sure that what you are focused on is what you really want. This may be a time to revisit your goals and dreams and to refine them if necessary. Make sure they are yours and not someone else’s. The need for Freedom is huge this month and shows up as the freedom to choose, the freedom to think for ones’ self and the freedom to eliminate what does not serve.

YOU PERSONALLY

Wisdom tip for you personally.  It is time to live the life you want. Don’t be afraid to put what you want out there. Ask for it. If it’s not right, it won’t happen. If it is right, the momentum will engage and you will get it in spades.

The lessons personally this month are around seeing just how much you get in your own way. If you ask for something, observe what shows up. Don’t reject it before you examine if it is a tool that spirit is handing you to better achieve your dream, or if it is a distraction you have created for yourself as a test.

Work on your boundaries. They will certainly be tested. Work on your energy leaks and get to know yourself better from your own perspective. This is a “take charge” kind of a month. If you don’t, you will be yanked around by someone else’s momentum and someone else’s dream. If you lose your center, stop everything, take a deep breath and go back to your own priorities. You will find that if you ignore your own priorities and allow something else to distract you, you will become very irritated and your irritation will gather momentum. If this happens you need to consciously reset what you are doing, and/or whom you are with to get back on track.

March 2013 -Time To Clear Energy Leaks and Get Prepared!

personal growthIn this monthly forecast, you’ll find tips to boost your personal growth and tips to get the most out of this month!

The primary theme for March is MOVEMENT.  March is a split personality month, with the first couple of weeks giving us more of February’s watery course. During this time, watch for continued unexpected emotional debris surfacing from the depths. It may seem like nothing is moving and the surface is quiet, but there is a lot going on underneath. We have called this time period “Roll With the Punches”.

Mid month, the underwater movement comes to the surface as the storm gathers and unleashes its energy in full force much like a sprinter at the Olympics. This sprinter has set goals, dreamed, trained and remained very focused to get where they are and this is the time to put it all together. We are calling this time frame “Ready, Set, GO!”

During the first part of the month it may seem like not much is active as the movement is subtle, unfocused and subconscious. Beware of letting down your guard as we are still in the time of unpredictability. Earthquakes, volcanoes, tsunamis, strong tides, storms and floods are not always apparent until they actually unleash their power. Remember not to underestimate what goes on beneath the surface and pay attention to the subtle (or not so subtle) signs. Even if you spend a lot of time feeling “spaced out”, just know that there is lots going on that you may not be consciously aware of.

This is a good time to continue to clear out the old. Your goals and intentions that were set at the end of 2012 at the time of the solstice put certain things into motion. All the emotional clearing, dissolving of old patterns, forgiveness, acceptance and flexibility are all very necessary for personal growth AND for the preparation for what hits us later this month. Even Mercury in retrograde has taught us valuable lessons in paying attention to what is present and in front of instead of impatiently surging ahead before the timing is right.

One of the most important things to do during this time of preparation is to differentiate between what is yours and what belongs to someone else. Expectations, judgments, thought forms, dreams, plans, disappointments and reactions all need to be scrutinized and sorted appropriately. You do not want to be going into the later part of the month with any energy that is not completely yours. This is the time to evaluate and clean house of all energy leaks so that when the action hits, you are ready to go without distraction.

Another important reminder is to stay present and wait for right timing. Don’t try and anticipate the movement but pay close attention so you can ride the wave like a good surfer. If you are not distracted and concerned with other people’s energy, you will instinctively know when the timing is right and be able to make your move without any extra effort.

Protection is also highly recommended during this time. Some of you work daily with the concept of protection but for those of you who are not in the habit, it would be advisable to start a practice of protection for yourself energetically. You can do this through visualization or using a protective smoke such as sage or even placing stones that are good for protection around your immediate environment. Working with protection will help you protect your own individual process from energy leaks and the attention points of others as well as protect you from strong energetic blasts that may come at you from others once we move into the highly action oriented time later this month.

The reason we named the first part of the monthRoll With the Punches” is to address the part of it that feels like being rolled around in a wave of water. No matter how hard you try, you may not be able to clearly see which way is up and which way is down. Anyone who has ever been caught in a wave knows it does not help to fight. The only way out is through surrender or “rolling with it”. The waves in this case are the surprising ways that energy and events will be flowing in and out of your life, washing some things away and bringing you others that were quite unexpected. If you resist, it will not go well. So surrender and “roll with the punches and you will have a much easier time and perhaps even end up in a better place than before.

The second part of the month called “ready, set, GO” pretty much says it all. You better be prepared and preparedness is 30% eliminating what’s in the way, 30% being clear about what you want, and the rest taking action and trusting the support behind you. This could be a phenomenal time of manifesting (finally) what you have been hoping and hoping for. To insure success, you must eliminate all mixed messages to spirit that indicate you are not ready, or you are afraid, or you are uncertain, or you don’t believe it could happen, or you don’t think you deserve it, or that you really don’t want it because then others won’t love you, and a variety of other mixed messages.

It is also important that your actions match your intentions. Don’t ask for something if you are not really willing to accept the consequence of having it happen. Be VERY careful what you ask for at this time because you will probably get it.

So be ready. Have all your ducks in a row, your closets cleaned, your plumbing working. Be set and clear about what you want. Make sure its what YOU want. And GO. Take action, say yes and go for it. If you are not focused during the second part of the month you could be sideswiped by big waves of energy coming at you from the wrong direction when you are not paying attention. So pay attention, be directive, be proactive, be focused, and take action. Only go straight!

How the month shows up:

YOU PERSONALLY

This is one of the best times to finalize “cleaning house” of old subconscious debris as well as eliminating old behaviors and really feeling like you can have a new lease on life as well as new opportunities to have exactly what you want.  To reap the benefits of personal growth, you will need to spend time on inner work. Your discipline this month will be to stay focused and stick with what you put out there. It is an opportunity to show up in a new way, to stretch your wings and to feel a new sense of power, security and ability to create.

Watch for the self-deprecation that tells you that the good things in life are for “someone else”. Make a choice as to which voice you listen to. This is your time. If you do not take it, someone else will. There is an aggressive nature to the last part of this month that can either be a high octane fuel for your intentions or it can blast you into negativity. The heat of this energetic fuel is intense so it is up to you to decide how to use it. Your experiences will either be intensely wonderful or intensely difficult or maybe even a bit of both.

RELATIONSHIPS

Good communication is essential during these watery times especially during the first part of the month. It is good practice to communicate clearly what you want, what you expect and what you are asking for. With relationships, this is not a good time to assume the other person will be able to guess what you are thinking, what you want, or what you need.
There is too much miscommunication in relationships and this time frame gives us the opportunity to set the communication piece on the right track.

Fear of rejection or rejecting, avoiding conflict, fear of loss and fear of reaction all play a part in avoiding good communication. If relationships are to take advantage of the coming time where there is great movement forward and the synergy of partnership will be able to provide an exquisite fuel to manifesting dreams, clear communication must be mastered. Don’t wait for the other to make the first move. That is not the position of power. Say what you want and communicate clearly.

Power Tips To Achieve Life Goals In the New Year

As we start a new year and new beginnings, I thought it would be perfect to share tips and an audio on how to achieve life goals by infusing goals with power.

And, at the end, you’ll find a link for an audio that I think you will get a lot out of.

The Mayans say that December 21, 2012 marked the end of an important cycle and a new beginning that presents a new paradigm, a change of frequency.  In this new era, marked by a shift in frequency, we have new potential to manifest our intentions, to realize our purpose.

To take advantage of this shift in energy, we must release our personal demons (e.g., fear, worry, panic).  When our inner demons control us, we miss the opportunity to listen to Spirit that is always there to guide us, and we lose the ability to think clearly with our whole mind.

Also, it helps us tremendously to start the new year clear and free of past goals that burden us.  As you plan your goals for 2013, also review past goals that you have not yet achieved and write down what important life lessons you learned around them and what you are thankful for.  If you feel shame or any disappointment about a past goal, that feeling reflects unfinished business that you need to take care of.  Unfinished business is taken care of from within, with inner work, such as gratitude for the lessons learned.

Make peace with your past so you can be free to pursue and achieve your goals with renewed energy! If you don’t take care of unfinished business, it can haunt you and interfere with you achieving the goals you set for yourself in the new year.

December 2012–Moving Out Of An Old Paradigm and Into A New One

The theme for December 2012 is FORGIVENESS.

The image to work with this month is one of moving from one house to another. You have relinquished the old one and are on a deadline to move, as there is a new person moving in. You have to get all of your things out. As you pack you uncover all those things you forgot you had (or you wish you did not have) from the backs of drawers and closets and from the basement and the garage and other areas well hidden from your everyday life. You are astounded by the amount of accumulation over the years (most of you anyway).

As you go through it, memories and emotions come to the surface as you make choices as to what gets moved and what gets passed on, thrown or given away. After all the moving van is only so big and the new house is different, more efficient and you don’t want to clutter it up with unimportant or old stuff that is connected to some past dream or reality. For example if you lived in a snowy area and you are moving to the tropics you would likely eliminate most of your cold weather gear and equipment.

This is a time when you would feel slightly nostalgic, everything would be disorganized and no matter how well you packed you would still be living out of boxes for awhile. You would make sure you had the very essentials for living while you were unpacking: the minimum of clothing, furniture and kitchenware. You would rely on your friends and community to help with this transition and you would be somewhat excited but anxious at the same time especially if where you were moving was an entirely new landscape to you.

Moving is always stressful and it is challenging to keep grounded. These are the times. We are moving out of an old paradigm and into a new one. As we face the unknown there is excitement, there is anxiety and there is resistance and a desire to have something around that is familiar. There is also a feeling of being overwhelmed by the immense task of sorting, choosing, packing and moving. Timing and support are everything. And then the question during the shaky first months: Did we do the right thing? Did we make the right move?

So where does Forgiveness fit in?

I had a dream the other night where I went to my house but my house was a multi story old rickety thing with falling down front steps and a huge pile of renovation debris behind the front door so you had to enter through the back door. As I was going through the house I noticed how much furniture there was. Random chairs and beds everywhere and staircases that were barely navigable. So much clutter I could barely move or think.

We were to go somewhere the following day and I was expecting a house sitter who showed up a day early and brought all of their animals and the whole family and then some friends too to add to the clutter.

As I pondered the dream the next morning, I saw clearly that this was a symbol of the immense burden the collective carries at this time of karmic clutter. We truly do not know what to do with all the karmic clutter we have accumulated during this cycle we are just completing now.

The ONLY solution is to FORGIVE it. Therefore the theme of Forgiveness is not to be taken lightly this month, but to be worked with on a daily basis beginning with you personally. Using the metaphor of moving, as you observe your judgments come up about the clutter in your life whether energetic, karmic or physical, forgive yourself.

We carry such debt, most of it a collective karmic debt. It is a huge burden and time is running out. You can help the collective by forgiving yourself and then forgiving all others that “owe you”. Do you want to be left behind at the counter waiting for your change when a tidal wave is about to sweep in or do you forgive what is owed and get yourself to higher ground?

What is Forgiveness?

Forgiveness is an energy that neutralizes the charge attached to a person or an event releasing you and the person or event from the debt that is allegedly owed.

Forgiveness does not mean you condone the karma or make it OK to repeat. It merely takes the charge off and neutralizes it, so it does not matter in your life anymore. You can become neutral about it and therefore can let your attachment around it go. So work with the energy of Forgiveness rather than the emotion of it. This is not emotional. It is a complete letting go like breathing a sigh of relief or releasing the body in death.

This is a difficult thing for some of you, especially if you are a control freak or have Martyrdom or are intellectually centered with an emotional trap. Some of you hold on to things way too long. You know who you are.

We are currently a global society built on debt and operating from debt. Debt holds a lot of energy and blocks evolution and progress. There is as much of a sense of ones owing a debt, as there is a sense of being owed. Both need to be forgiven. What if it were all forgiven? The more you can forgive your own debt both ways, the bigger the influence of the ripple effect on the collective. This is imperative work if we are to navigate the upcoming change in a way that gets us to a new vibration.

We have a lot of work to do. How many of us are sitting in Martyrdom or Self-deprecation berating ourselves for the choices we did or did not make, and feeling resentful at those that “done us wrong”. We are waiting for the debts to be paid or bracing ourselves for the debt we feel we owe and have no clue as to how to pay it back. Before December 21, see how much you can forgive, as this is the only way to be clear of the burden that keeps you energetically tied to the past. It is time to move on, especially for those of you that have self-deprecation about not being good enough or suffer from self-loathing about the things you have done to your body, to yourself and to others. This is the time to forgive all.

On the other side are the potential for tremendous insight and a powerful invitation to step into a new vibration that allows a greater understanding of how to manifest and how to work with the quantum field. You should be greatly inspired with the possibilities and begin to get your energy back with every forgiveness you manage to negotiate well.

December 21: The Winter Solstice is exact at 4:11AM Mountain Standard Time. We do not need to tell you that this is a very important time and day to honor in some way. The energy is about honoring and forgiving the structure that has held life together up until this point. Move yourself into a place of trust that a new structure has been organizing itself in the quantum field through a collective intention of having a better world.

Are you using sound to speed up creating changes in your life?

Brain Waves and Mind Body FrequenciesIn this post, I share some fascinating facts about sound and how frequencies can help you change your brain waves and create changes in your life.

(At the end of this post, I’ll also let you know how you can get a free sample download).

Everything is energy.  Everything has its unique vibration—a unique tone or frequency.  Sound, light and electricity are waves of energy. These waves can be measured to determine the exact frequency of the energy.  (Frequency, measured in Hertz “Hz” units, measures the number of waves that pass by per second).  An “A” note on a violin string, for example, vibrates at about 440 Hz (440 vibrations per second).

Everything emits sound.  The cells in your body, every organ, your thoughts, emotions, the earth, rocks & the planets all have their unique frequency or tone.

Scientists have discovered, for example, that there are ”cancer cells” which emit distinct sounds from healthy cells.  Research is being done to explore the effects of playing frequencies of healthy cells to cancer cells to transform sick cells into healthy ones.  Scientists have also researched sounds that are emitted from the planets. Jupiter, for example, emits the loudest music.  It’s interesting that Jupiter, which has a frequency of 183.6 Hz, is associated with growth, success and creative power, according to the Zodiac and other ancient knowledge.

You might be wondering, “How can this type of knowledge help me?”  We can use sounds, or frequencies, to entrain our minds–to alter our brain waves– and boost our mind powers.

Modern science now understands that rhythmic sounds and frequencies affect brain-wave activity.  In the last two decades, there’s been tons of research on mind enhancement tools, such as mind machines and audio recordings, that help us change our brain waves with the push of a button.

In past posts, I have written about the benefits of consciously slowing down brain wave activity and entering deeper meditative states, such as Theta.  Slower brain wave states are highly effective for releasing negative emotions, healing, manifesting, developing intuitive abilities and tapping levels of extraordinary awareness.  While slower brain waves are enormously valuable, higher frequency states, such as Beta/Gamma, also provide their own benefits.

If you want to enhance your mind abilities when you’re at the office or working on your computer or doing analytical work that requires use of your logical mind, you can greatly benefit from high-alert states, such as Beta/Gamma.

In a nutshell, there are four recognized brain wave ranges: Beta (14-30 Hz) is present in normal waking consciousness; Alpha (7-14 Hz) in states of relaxation; Theta (4-7 Hz) in meditative states; and the slowest, Delta (0.5-4 Hz) in deep sleep and profound meditative states.

The most recently discovered brain frequency is Gamma, which is the fastest in frequency at above  30 Hz.  Many researchers don’t distinguish Beta from Gamma waves, and refer to it as Super Beta.  Gamma  is associated with bursts of insights,  high-level information processing such as math and data analysis.`

How to quickly change your brain waves & create positive results!

brain waves change with soundCan goals, such as wealth, creativity, greater self-confidence and memory improvement be realized more easily by changing our brain waves?

The answer is yes! All our thoughts start out as brain waves, specific frequencies. And like radio waves, our thoughts can be transmitted from our minds to the universe.  The universe responds to repetitive and consistent thoughts, especially when they are empowered.

You can empower your thoughts and goals in meditative states using “envisioning”.  In The Warrior Spirit, I explain how to help speed up the manifesting process by “envisioning” your goals during deep meditative states, such as Theta.   Slower brain wave states, such as Theta, provide many benefits beyond helping you manifest.  In fact, all of the brain waves (e.g., Gamma, Beta, Alpha, Theta and Delta) have their distinct benefits.  There are many ways we can create specific brain waves.  Sound is one way.

Modern science has shown that sounds affect brain waves.  Why is this important?

Brain wave frequencies affect our mental, emotional and physical well being. Sounds are waves, which can be measured as frequency.  (Frequency is measured in Hertz “Hz” units; it’s the number of waves that pass by per second).  Studies have demonstrated, for example, that when people listen to sounds that are in the Theta range (4.0- 7.0 Hz), they enter a deep meditative state & tend to have greater visualizations, inspiration &  insights than when they are in the ordinary waking state of Beta.

While meditative states are enormously valuable, higher frequency states, such as Beta/Gamma, also provide their own benefits, different benefits. If you want to enhance your mind abilities when you’re at the office or working on your computer or doing analytical work that requires use of your logical mind, you can benefit from high-alert states, such as Beta/Gamma.  The most rapid frequency brain waves we know are Gamma (about 40.0 Hz and higher).  Gamma brain waves are associated with bursts of insights, high-level information processing and certain cognitive activities, such as analysis and math.

We can create desired states by listening to certain frequencies that are aligned with that which we want to realize.

What to do to work through your fears?

Working thru FearIn this post, you will learn some powerful tips for working through personal fear.

The main word we will use this month is triggered. People will be triggered this month by just about everything. There is an emotional component to the month potentially infusing hysteria and irrationality to some of what is being triggered. Navigating through what is real in your experience today and what belongs to some deeply hidden (up till now) past wound will be the main work and challenge. As always, there is a tremendous opportunity to change and release the past that still triggers and runs you today.

We will be dealing a lot with fear and most of it has no reality base in present time. You will see that fear is almost always about the past or about the future, neither of which really exist. Reactions are usually fear-based and have no power. True action comes from the power of choice and decision.

The energy of the month is very yang and aggressive whether you are in the “reaction” or in the “action” part of it. The masculine quality provides an opportunity to practice right action and the positive aspects of the masculine, but reactivity may also show up as a negative aspect and something to be aware of, both in yourself and in others.

August’s theme of power continues in the background and insures that actions and reactions are powerful, forceful, sudden and explosive. This can be either a very good thing, or an intense challenge. For some, this time will show up as a great open door of possibilities for right action, right work and tremendous movement and manifesting. For others, it will be a challenge just to stay in neutral gear and not become mired in a reactive place of fear. What comes to mind is Thor’s Hammer. In Norse Mythology, Thor is a god associated with thunder. His Hammer is one of the most fearsome of weapons, capable of leveling mountains. Though generally recognized and depicted as a hammer, it is sometimes referred to as an axe or club. In wielding the hammer, Thor

“Would be able to strike as firmly as he wanted, whatever his aim, and the hammer would never fail, and if he threw it at something, it would never miss and never fly so far from his hand that it would not find its way back, and when he wanted, it would be so small that it could be carried inside his tunic.

Thor’s hammer is descriptive of what we have this month. Either you will get hit with it or you will wield it. You decide. The image and symbolism of throwing the hammer is about taking deliberate and specific action. Specific and deliberate action is not a reaction or an action taken out of reaction. It is a choice. If you are taking action from a place of “being left no choice” you are acting out of reaction and there is no power in that. When you wield Thor’s hammer and throw your intention, choice, and motivation into an action for yourself and your own personal future, you can’t miss. The force of this dynamic energy will carry you forward into manifesting your future in the way you consciously choose. Wielding Thor’s hammer is not an ambivalent act. You don’t sort of throw it. You put 100% behind your choice, decision and action.

On the other hand, if you find yourself flattened by Thor’s Hammer, it means you have become mired in the quicksand of fear and reactivity that has made you a target. You will likely find that at this time you are inflexible, blaming, attached, stubborn, martyred, angry, judgmental, self-deprecating, full of regret, or trying to fix something that is not in your control or yours to fix. This is the place of feeling powerless to act. You got triggered by something or someone and did not stay neutral. If this happens, become neutral as quickly as possible, observe that you always have a choice, reflect on what action you choose to take in your life, and then do it. Use the image of having a “Thor’s Hammer” as your own ability to choose, intend and take powerful action. This is it. Do it now.

When you get triggered by an event, a person, or an experience, your reaction is almost always connected to a core issue that has its roots in the past. When any event happens in your life, the experience of it has to filter down into the instinctive center where over time it becomes a core belief. All childhood traumas and experiences are processed in this way especially during formative years and times of core imprinting. Usually similar events are re created, as they are magnetized to the pattern solidifying its identity as a core belief. So when you react strongly to something, you are reacting to very old information that has nothing to do with the present. This month provides a huge opportunity to follow the threads of your reactions to their core and uncover the old fears and beliefs that have been running you your whole life. The task is to take action and throw that hammer at them, eliminating them for good.

As you take advantage of this time and go deeply into following the threads of your reactions to their core with the intention of eliminating those old beliefs and patterns, make sure you have something to replace them with. Nature abhors a vacuum and you want to be able to decide what goes into that vacuum of available space once it is cleared. It is also very threatening to your personality and instinctive center to all of a sudden change everything. We always suggest doing this gradually. Remember the bid for power information about being ready and not taking on more than you can handle. It is OK to do this little by little and to get help. The most important thing is to pay attention to where and how you react.

Because of the emotional aspect of the month, you may experience mood swings in yourself and in others. One day up, the next down; one day pleased with your actions, the next day confused and despairing; one day happy with life and everyone in it, the next day angry and cynical. Just remember that much of what is surfacing is not of the present. Don’t get stuck in feeling badly or trying to analyze as it probably will not make much sense. Movement is key. Change something, clean out a junk drawer, and throw away something old. Get up and move around, change your position, take a walk, go outside. Use your breath to release the charge behind your reaction.

Working through FEAR.

When you react, immediately ask yourself, ”What is the fear?”

Then look to see if the fear is real in what is happening to you right at that moment. Chances are it is not. For example, if you get a letter from someone or something you identify as an authority (IRS, bank, creditor, court, lawyer, someone you owe something to….), you may react and that reaction may have fear under it. What is the fear? Follow the thread. Notice that the fear is not founded in any experience you are having right at the present moment where you may be cooking a nice meal or having a good conversation or enjoying a cup of tea or a good walk with your dog. These fears are always about something possible in the future that has not happened yet. Always bring yourself back to the present, move the fear aside and focus instead on taking whatever action you need to take from your own choices and personal power. One of the hardest choices and action to take is to ask for help. Sometimes you need to ask for help. If you do ask, ask with the powerful intention of getting help and not with the belief that you won’t get it because you don’t deserve it or it has never been there for you and does not exist.

How do you deal with others that are triggered around you?

You come from a place of compassion. You stay uninvolved in their drama. You do not try and fix it for them. You do not take it personally, as it almost never is, since it is connected to their own past and not yours. You serve, help and support through your own right action as an example they can choose to follow or not. It is painful to see people you care about mired in their own reactions. But jumping in there with them means that now there are two of you mired and powerless. You may wish to physically remove yourself from any situation that is particularly toxic.

Are you ready to embrace wisdom and enhance your life?

Wisdom symbol.The theme for August is POWER.

There are many ways to work with a theme of power and for this month it is more about looking at where you give your power away and then changing that behavior or pattern. It is also about learning to empower your desires from within rather than always looking to a greater power outside yourself to make things happen. This is a great month to revisit the idea of power and energy leaks and to spend some intentional time reworking your patterns in these areas.

Power and can show up in many ways. Power is health, vitality, truth, love, resources, awareness, creativity, service, acceptance, attention, connection, joy, ability, talent, recognition, expression, freedom and choice just to name a few. These are what you practice or embody and what no one can take away from you. So the resources we are mentioning are not resources that can be taken but rather inner resources of resiliency, flexibility, and personal talent and creativity. What power is not includes control, worry, negativity, resistance, oppression, slavery, fear, and any practice or behavior that is run by the obstacles of the false personality

We all have an idea about what power is. We also all have a definition of what a powerful person looks like and acts. We have been told all our lives about what and who has more power than we do and when it is best just to do as you are told without question. This is a month when all of this automatic behavior comes into questioning and reevaluation. At the end of the day, you are the one who gets to decide whether or not to give your power to something or someone. You will also get to evaluate whether something is capable of empowering you or not.

The task this month is to study where you put your energy. Is it a good investment or not? If you spend your time worrying about something that could happen you are giving your power away to the future that has not yet manifested and may never manifest. There is no power in that. However if you put that same energy into gratitude, you will not only feel better, you will be greatly empowered rather than disempowered. Anything that keeps you in the present rather than regretting the past or worrying about the future is a much greater source of power.

Procrastination is also a great power leak. Take up the motto this month of “DO IT NOW” and get a handle on your procrastination. If you can’t “do it now” then decide when, make a plan, and forget about it. It is not the timing that is the power giveaway; it is the worry and obsession that goes along with it. This is giving your power away to time.

Another common power giveaway is deferring to another’s preference all the time, saying yes to doing things you truly do not wish to do, and compromising yourself in an effort to keep the peace in a volatile environment or to please someone in a relationship. This never works, as it will breed resentment in the long run. Anything you do with strings attached has an expectation on the other end, either yours or someone else’s. Expectations set you up for disappointment and limit the power available. Practice doing things because you want to and if you are in a situation such as a job or family commitment that requires some degree of sacrifice and compromise, remember that you chose this on some level. The best approach is to continue choosing it fully and from service rather than martyrdom.

There are many ways that people give their power away to others, to institutions, to those they consider more powerful or more knowledgeable, to government, to authority, to addictions, and to anything they consider vital to their survival. These are too numerous to list. However you can examine your own life and see where you may make some small changes to take your power back where it makes sense. Reevaluate what you thought was more powerful than it really is. What makes you react in a fearful way? Does it really have power over you?  Continually asking yourself questions is an important practice and will help you deepen your wisdom.

The other part if this equation is looking at what truly does have power and being receptive and open to it as a source of energy, inspiration and vitality. Anything in nature and the elements, essence connection, your own creativity, beauty, starlight, love, the sun and moon, a waterfall, sacred mountains, a storm, just to name a few. The more time you spend in communion and practice with natural sources of power, the more powerful you will be from within and the more wisdom you stand to acquire.

How the month shows up:

YOU PERSONALLY

You have the opportunity to examine where you give your power away and to consciously make choices to change that behavior. If you are always deferring to another’s decisions out of fear, you are giving your power away. If you are letting your obstacles (stubbornness, greed, self-destruction, arrogance, self-deprecation, impatience, martyrdom) get the better of you and influence your decisions, you are giving your power away. This month is a time to take your personal power back from the habits and patterns that do not serve you.

You can also make great strides in empowering yourself personally through practices of being around natural power consciously. The next time you see a beautiful sunset, open yourself up to the power of the beauty and absorb it into yourself. If you take one thing every day and turn it around from being a power giveaway into a practice of empowerment you will be doing good work. For example if you are always judging and speaking negatively, spend a set amount of time speaking only positively and suspending all judgment. Then follow this up with a practice of gratitude.

RELATIONSHIPS

Relationships could see power struggles depending on the nature of the relationship. There is also an opportunity to empower relationships with more truth, creativity, joy, freedom, choice, love, attention and wisdom. It is important to try and take the expectations out of the equation. It will become clear once you take your power back from relationships where you have been giving it over, whether the relationship is still viable.

Some relationships have been built on an imbalanced platform of power where one person has given their power away. Once the power is taken back, the relationship either has to reconfigure a new platform or dissolve. Reconfiguring a new platform usually requires a time of separation or disconnection to be successful.

A good practice to do with regards to relationships is the practice of giving acknowledgment, attention, acceptance, freedom and choice to others. Give it without expecting anything back. This gets you away from focusing on yourself and into the service of empowering others. By eliminating the expectation you also make yourself available for that experience to come to you in ways maybe you never imagined.

HEALTH AND THE PHYSICAL BODY

Where do you give your power away? To your addictions, to your health practitioners, to your bad habits, to your lethargy or fear, to your illness, to your beliefs about aging, to your beliefs about what the body is capable? This is a time of examination and taking your power back from where you have given it away. It is also a great month to drop the excess weight, worry, obsession, doubt, and fear. It is maybe the best opportunity so far to reestablish a new relationship with your body and empower it as never before. Acknowledge it, have gratitude, give it love and attention, decorate it, get some new clothes, feed it some good food, take it out into nature as much as possible and let it run and play.

This is a time to move away from fear and mistrust to trust and relationship. The body will respond to physical nurturing and loving attention from you and from others. You may through periods of lethargy or depression. Use your will to get out and walk and be in nature. The body is designed to move. Notice how your thoughts about what it is you need to do are the ones making you tired and not the actual activity. Notice when you give your power away to your thoughts and beliefs especially around your body, your health and what you are capable of.

FINANCE, PROJECTS, PARTNERSHIPS, BUSINESS

This can be an exciting month for projects, partnerships and business. The opportunity for empowering them is huge provided they are infused with the right kind of power. For example if you have been waiting for a certain investor to come along to launch your business and you believe that you cannot do it without them, you are setting yourself up for disappointment and perhaps failure. If however you focus on infusing your business with the powerful support of inspiration, the right people, creativity, resourcefulness, flexibility, the power of an ally, the support of the four directions and other natural elements, you will open the opportunity for great success. The key is dropping the expectation of what it should look like.

Examine where you are giving your power away and take it back. There is a great movement now away from larger corporate entities and towards smaller more local business models. The more personal of a relationship you can have with your projects, finances and business the better. Stay involved and inspired. If you are entangled in an old model with partners that cannot change, you may need to take your power back and do something else. Any project that is launched in the right way this month has the possibility of great success. If it is not right, it will be obvious.

Start Your Day By Choosing

Did you know that whenever you have a thought, your energy moves in the direction of that thought?

If you start your day holding a negative thought, it will attract more negative thoughts as you go about your day.  The reverse is true.  When you start your day focusing on a happy thought, that thought will attract more like thoughts that make you feel good.  Thoughts have wings and travel  in the path that you choose.

Have you noticed that when you start your day feeling low that the rest of your day ends up not very good?

If you want to have a great day, make that decision first thing in the morning by focusing on a thought that makes you feel good. What you experience in your day is a reflection of your inner world.

The moment you feel you’re getting into a bad mood, stop what you are doing.  Do something different to break the mood and lift your spirit.  Get up and dance, go for a walk or listen to uplifting music.

Here’s one technique (one of my favorites) you can do to quickly change a negative thought into a happy thought.  Simply close your eyes and recollect a time when you felt deeply happy, and relive that joyful moment.  To relive a memory is to feel as if it were happening now and to experience it with all of your senses.  Though the event happened in the past, you are in both places at once. You are here remembering and there, at the same time.  You will feel great as you relive the happy memory.

Start your day focusing on thoughts that lift your spirit. Happy thoughts lead to optimistic feelings. Optimism opens the doors of opportunities. When you feel light as a feather, you attract inspired ideas and creative solutions.  You can do it!  You have the power to choose what type of day you will have.

Are you holding yourself back?

How do you know when something is holding you back?

When you think of your past, does it fill you with regret, blame, sadness, fear or any heavy emotion that weighs you down?  If the answer is yes, that’s a sign that you probably need to release what’s weighing you down.

Do you feel hopeless, doubtful or a general sense of tiredness when you think of your life?  If the answer is yes, it’s likely that you need to release what’s draining your energy.

To the extent that limiting beliefs, heavy emotions and old wounds weigh you down, you’re not free to move forward.  Heavy emotions, such as worry, jealousy and feeling offended, drain your energy and keep you stuck in the past.  You need plenty of energy to successfully create what you long for. That’s why you must free yourself from inner demons.

Sometimes just becoming aware of negative thoughts can be enough to defeat them. There will be times, however, when awareness alone will not defeat your inner demons.  That’s when releasing practices can help you.

Do You Know Your Energy Leaks?

Memories, people, events and ideas that deplete your energy are energy leaks.  They drain your life force.  More often, they rob you of energy in subtle ways over time.

If a close friend were to ask you what your energy leaks are, what would you say?  It comes back again to awareness.

To change your reality, you must know yourself intimately.  You need to know your strengths and weaknesses.  We all have energy leaks.  Some people have more than others, but we all need to work on ourselves.

Whether you need to let go of self-pity, regret, impatience or depression (to name a few), face each one, forgive and let go.  It does not empower you at all to rehash the past with judgment, regret or blame.  Take responsibility for your emotions and release those that weaken you.

What Will You Gain By Stopping Your Energy Leaks?

When you stop your energy leaks, you build up your energy and can alter your destiny.  You put yourself in a place of power by choosing strength over weakness.  It’s always up to you to choose what gives you strength.

By growing your inner power, you gain benefits on all levels.  Remember, the physical and spiritual worlds are interconnected.

As our energy increases, even in small degrees, we’re more likely to have insights, to see new possibilities, to feel stronger and experience more optimism.  We shift energetically, just as water changes when exposed to certain thoughts.

When that happens, we tend to increasingly draw resources and people into our lives that will help us.  Our probable future changes as we change our inner world.
