August 2011–A Time To Do More Than You Think Is Possible

Monday, August 1st, 2011

The main theme for August is Wake Up and Pay Attention.

This does not mean becoming more hyper-vigilant or controlling but rather becoming more present and taking notice from a place of expanded awareness. Most of us have narrowed our experience of life and ability to respond down to a very narrow band, being asleep or unconscious about the greater part of it. If we didn’t, we would be overwhelmed at what we have put up with and continue putting up with.

In the development of the mind and the mental ability to problem solve, we have traded in the awareness of our instinctual and emotional responses for the illusion of security in trusting that the mind can solve everything. We are quickly seeing that in these accelerated times not only can the mind not keep up, but that it limits our ability to respond in other ways so crucial to our survival at this time. The mind is almost never present. It is almost always either in the past; reviewing, judging, trying to understand, categorizing, filing and organizing; or in the future; planning, worrying, tracking, organizing and trying to get a handle on linear time. Notice that when you are doing a task that requires complete presence, the mind becomes quiet and inactive, taking a back seat.

Animals in the wild and other aspects of nature react to their environment with efficiency in their knowing, timing and action. This does not come from a place of mental planning but rather from being aware and responding to the present circumstances. Nature is very flexible. Because of our attachments, expectations and constant mental micromanaging, we have lost both the ability to be flexible and the ability to be instantly responsive. We have diminished our experience of life, we have fallen asleep, and we forgotten how to trust and be present.

We are still in an emotionally centered year. The emotional center is there to teach us a different way of reacting. The emotional center is not about emoting or being emotional. It is about relying on a different level of intuition that takes in way more information than the intellectual realm of the mind can ever process. We need to remember how to use this center more effectively so that we can trust our non-mental process and begin to give it more credit. The mind is a very useful tool and it is important to use it to set intentions, goals and direction, but we cannot expect the mind to get us there. The mind on its own is not capable of driving enough energy to accomplish anything. It is too limited and yet we have given it this impossible task. No wonder we feel helpless, powerless, fatigued and confused.

It will take time to turn this pattern around and you can start by waking up your senses and paying attention to your surroundings by being more present and aware. If you spend a little bit of time every day in non-mental awareness practicing being present, you will exercise this part of yourself and eventually it will become automatic. This is what is required in order to move into a higher state of consciousness at this time. Anything you can do this month that raises your consciousness is an excellent use of the influences. Any practices that help connect you to spirit and get you out of your mind will also be very helpful.

There will be many lessons and opportunities to see just how effective you can be without your mind trying to control everything. The discipline will be to keep yourself present and out of the past and the future. This is the time to step up to the plate, show up fully and take responsibility for yourself, your actions and your truth. It is time to get out of denial, to open your eyes and all your senses, to truly look at what you have been putting up with and to do something about it. This requires courage and action and you may not always get positive responses from others, as misery loves company. When you decide to take the high road you may need to set some boundaries against certain energies that are no longer compatible. Remember that negative reactions from others are usually projections and it is important not to take things personally especially when you know you are on the right track.

By the same token, if you are having a strong negative reaction to someone or their actions, you may need to look at how you may be projecting on them or how their actions may have threatened your own complacency and denial. See each of them, as a teacher and a mirror, stay neutral, present and awake.

This is an incredibly accelerated time where incredible things are possible. You need to watch for the aggression mode of the year showing up in negative ways both in yourself and in others. Since the mind is being quickly surpassed by the speed of things these days, you also may experience anything from feeling like you are losing your mind, panic attacks, anxiety and amnesia. This is much about the dissolving of linear time and thus the tracking method of the mind. Watch also for bleed-through from the astral plane at inconvenient times, throwing you momentarily off the course of linear thought. You are being called upon to trust all the other senses, to trust your intuition and to learn to process information in a different way. The acceleration of the times makes it possible to accomplish way more than your mind would “think” possible. At the same time, if something is destructing, it will take much less time than “usual” for it to completely destruct. Any process is aggressively accelerated in these times so if something seems stagnant or not moving, all it needs is a spark of intention to set it on course.

May 2011–Influences To Take Advantage Of and To Beware Of

Monday, May 2nd, 2011

This month begins a much larger cycle of bringing all the disconnected parts back into communication with each other. In the name of individuality and based on the model of competition, the right hand has not known what the left hand is doing for a long, long time. The masculine has been disconnected from the feminine, our personalities have been disconnected from our essences, the mind has been disconnected from the heart, systems of the physical body have been disconnected from each other, and we have been living in an uncooperative, separate, lonely, dysfunctional world. There is no communication, everything is secret, and we guard our ideas, hearts, generosity, emotions and energy, measuring them out in small amounts and then only for the highest price. We are just as stingy with receiving as we are with giving, guarding ourselves against the danger of exploitation and the fear of annihilation. What a sorry state we have found ourselves to be in at this juncture of our evolution.

With all that said, we now have a great opportunity to change this pattern around from one of separation to one of cooperation and community. The theme of getting two sides of the same edge to communicate and work together is a huge one. This is just the beginning of a process that will probably take years but is necessary and inevitable as the next step in our evolution on the planet as a species. When was the last time your heart spoke to your little toe or your liver spoke to your pancreas? When was the last time you spoke to your food with gratitude for where it came from? When was the last time you asked for help?

We have been fed an illusion that power comes from being able to stand alone and to not rely on anything or anyone else. To some extent it is true that being self -sufficient is preferable to being overly needy, however this applies more to how you run your energy rather than to what you accomplish in the world. It is a known fact that when you have help and support you can accomplish a great deal more than if you don’t. What would it be like to have all your body parts cooperating with you in accomplishing a physically challenging endeavor? What would it be like to have help and support come easily, naturally and without conditions? And what would it be like to be confident that your intentions will always manifest because you trust 100% that it will be so? It is time to change our approach to life from one of effort and mistrust to one of believing in the cooperation of the universe.

There is a focused energy to the month that will work well with the aggression mode of the year when used in conjunction with your clear intentions. Intentions should be set very specifically and with plenty of flexibility for cooperation and support. Intentions should always be set around how you want to end up feeling and how satisfied you wish to be in your life. So when you are setting an intention for prosperity, instead of a dollar amount, set your goal to be what you intend to feel and what you imagine that amount will give you in terms of satisfaction. That way you give the universe more options for cooperating with you on manifesting your intention. Likewise if you are looking for a relationship, be specific on how you wish to feel in that relationship instead of what you think it ought to look like. The points of reference for the achievement of goals and manifesting are outdated and we are just now in the process of creating new ones. We have not yet experienced what it would be like to live life from a fully supportive and cooperative place where there was never any concern that an intention would not manifest. These are uncharted waters and a very exciting time on the planet where anything is possible provided we keep eliminating our attachment to old ways.

One of the aspects of this month is focus. Focus is important if you want to harness the engine that will drive your intention into being manifest. There can be no distractions and you have to be clear about what you intend. This is not a time to sit around and wait for something to happen. This is not a time to become frozen with fear like a deer in headlights. This is a time to move, to act, to intend, to ask, to pray, to get support and to be cooperative. Cooperation is a two way street. You must be cooperative yourself if you want to have cooperation. Part of this process is simply coming into an awareness of all things being connected. Set the intention to do your part and everything else will fall into place. Consider yourself and all that you have around you that supports you in life. Think of that support system as being a connected community of parts and pieces that need to work together to synthesize your life. From your car to your house to your clothes to your plumbing to the food you eat to your body functions to your friends, work, nature, time, your bank, grocery store etc.; they are all connected and form a cooperative community of sorts that supports your life.

Many of you have the illusion of being separate, alone, disconnected and unsupported and yet you are not. If you begin to focus on how everything is connected then you will begin to experience a greater sense of support, belonging and harmony. You will begin to streamline your intentions and trust the universe to deliver. Your life will become richer and you will feel more active and participatory rather than passive and victimized. So be aggressive about what you want but be a cooperative participant in the setting and manifesting of your intentions. One of the biggest lessons of these times is to learn to communicate and learn to trust. The fear of disillusionment and disappointment has kept most of us from communicating our deepest wishes. We don’t want to be seen as arrogant, foolish and unrealistic so we have kept ourselves small and secret. It is time for that practice to be done with and time to turn our sights towards a more intimate, trusting and cooperative pattern where so much more is possible. Instead of asking why, we should be asking why not.

Whenever you are working with a theme, the opposite of the theme shows up to illuminate the lessons. So in the case of cooperation what you may experience first is the uncooperative aspect of your life. You may be shown where you are disconnected and where there is effort. You may experience life as being very uncooperative. Should this happen, acknowledge the reminder and get to work changing your attitude. We have a tremendous opportunity right now to connect up the dots, to heal the rift between opposing forces and to get ourselves back on track. When you think of cooperation think of connecting right and left, behind and in front, up and down, inner and outer, the heart and the mind, masculine and feminine, giving and receiving, the body and spirit, all with the intention of getting them to communicate and cooperate.

April 2011 Forecast and Trends

Friday, April 1st, 2011

The main theme for April is FERTILITY!

You could say that aspects of physical life on this planet have been in a winter cycle of hibernation. Certain attitudes and behaviors have been repeated and repeated with very little change towards a more evolved way of being. The planet, and therefore each one of us individually as well, is currently having its soil turned from a deeper place, uncovering an underside that has not been broken up or aerated for a very long time. It is disruptive and often fatal to whatever is left from the previous cycle when the tiller of change comes plowing through. Even some of the worms that are in service to keeping the soil from being completely calcified are sacrificed along the way. Roots of old harvests, dry stalks, rocks, clumps of clay, and relatively “dead” soil comes to the surface. What is exposed in the process is now to be seen, identified, broken up, sorted and cleaned up. This process can at times be violent and require force depending on the extent of the hardness or calcification needing upturning.

The underside with all of its stagnant and calcified dirt clods represents an old way of thinking, of being attached, of creating, of intending, of communicating, and of living. Nature is being extremely cooperative and helpful these days in turning its own soil. It is up to us to take the process from here and to do the sorting, the clearing of stones that represent the obstacles we put in our own way, and the breaking up of the hard calcified clods that represent the old calcified places in ourselves.

Many of you have already experienced the tiller of change that has disrupted the calm surface of stagnant soil. You are deep in the process of looking at what has been uncovered, appalled perhaps by the violent nature of the disruption, sorting through it, mourning the sacrifices, and feeling daunted by the task you see in front of you. When you look at soil that has been turned over and lies in clumps it is hard to imagine what a beautiful creative garden can grow out of it. Perseverance is required as you roll up your sleeves and get to work. Being neutral about what you see is imperative, so that regret, shame, guilt, anger, resentment or self-deprecation doesn’t waylay you. It is what it is. Remember that soil in any shape can be worked with to bring it to a fertile condition. So if you think you or your situation is beyond hope, think again. It is an insult to spirit and to nature not to give more credit to the larger picture of evolution and to see that all of this is just a part of the big plan.

Anything that can be interpreted as a disaster should be re-defined as an opportunity for fertility. Anything that seems like the end is only a threshold to a new beginning. Anything that seems old, dead and full of obstacles can be reworked into a fertile bed ready for something new. The key is your own willingness to remove the stones and to break up the clay that represents the attachments in your life. There is tremendous fear out there and you will be subject to its influence every day. Don’t buy into it as it blocks the creativity needed to work with the ground you are making fertile.

The process of aerating the soil represents aerating your own mind, ideas, habits and patterns. By moving things around and actively training your mind to release old ways of thinking, you are making room for new growth and new experiences. If something is too fixed and solid, it is no longer fertile. It is said that young minds are fertile and it is because they have not yet fixed on their version of reality. You must get yourself to that young-mind place if you wish to take advantage of this new age. Be willing to create the space in your perception that is needed to allow for experiences you cannot now conceive of. When you aerate soil, you bring in lighter material to increase good drainage. The lighter material required for good aeration is represented by a higher vibration of energy and the quantum field of possibilities that so often takes a back seat to the current drama unfolding in your life. The good drainage is your ability to eliminate what does not serve you quickly and efficiently without judgment, regret or anger.

Adding nutrients to recharge the soil is the next step. Your own personal compost made of old waste is the best compost. All of your experiences and all of your teachings, challenges, lessons, loves, learning, and whatever you have done or not done, felt or not felt, thought or not thought in your life becomes rich compost for future manifestations. In order for you to have access to this compost you must acknowledge its existence. Harvest all that you have processed, honor and acknowledge it.  When you save scraps of food to make compost for a garden you have to be actively engaged in the composting process. You could just as easily throw everything into the trash and have it taken away. Out of sight, out of mind. But then you don’t get your own compost. You can always use some one else’s, but personal compost is way better. In working your own experiences into the soil of your circumstances to make it fertile, you are also giving value to your life. You are acknowledging the tremendous value in everything you have done, thought, felt and experienced.

Because the garden is such a good analogy we invite you to make a chart or a list of these concepts and work with them daily, finding your personal representations of clay, rocks, aeration, drainage and compost.

Freedom is also a very important to acknowledge and work with during these times, understanding it for yourself and where it fits into the greater scheme of working with creating fertile ground especially around the concept of aeration and loosening up your attachment to the way things have always been. Jose has a wonderful and timely audio on the subject that will give you additional ways to take full advantage of the opportunities at this time. (Link to Freedom Through and From “Time” audio here)

Even through we think of Fertility as a feminine condition, in order for your seeds to actually grow in the fertile ground you have created you need the masculine spark. That masculine spark is represented by the fire element and your own spark of inspiration around what is possible when you get your hands into the soil. You cannot be afraid of getting dirty or working hard. Anyone who has had the vision of a garden and then has actually seeded, cared for, and then harvested one, can attest to the great feeling of reward at harvest time. So be inspired by your process and the tremendous opportunities available for seeding a new way of being, a new way of thinking, a new way of living, new projects, a new environment, new work, new relationships, new attitude, new ideas. This is a tremendously fertile time on the planet. Look at all the compost we have available to us. Look at all the turning of the soil and aeration taking place. We are truly ready to plant new seeds and to spark them to grow through our own inspiration about the future we are creating. We need to think positively about what we can plant and how fast it can grow. Remember that this is also an accelerated time where things can manifest very quickly.

A good garden is nurtured, watered, exposed to the right amount of sunlight, weeded and pruned when necessary, and protected from harm. If you are inspired to plant some seeds of creativity in your life, protect the seedlings from the judgments of others and any of your own negative thoughts and attitudes that can harm their growth. You are often your own worst enemy and need to be aware of the damage you do to your own creative process by not trusting in yourself or in spirit. Build a good fence around you garden that consists of practices that keep you on track. Make a habit of not believing everything your mind tells you and be persistent and persevering in weeding out the doubt, the fear and the negativity that threatens to choke the growth. A good set of practices will also act as nourishment. Feed yourself with beauty, love, inspiration and all the energy that nature provides. Look to the sun and look to spirit to guide the timing. The times are fertile and all you have to do is pay attention and stay positive.

The Japan Crisis and The Mayan Calendar

Thursday, March 31st, 2011

The dangers of Japan’s nuclear power plant meltdowns continue
to escalate, yet very few media sources can be relied upon for
truthful coverage.  One thing is clear—our brothers and sisters
in Japan need our prayers more than ever.

Ancient spiritual teachings have long warned of horrific
disasters that would affect the planet around this time.
These are highly energized times.  While the chaos around us
will accelerate going forward, these times also present
unprecedented opportunities for spiritual growth.  Each of
us will need to choose wisely.  Now more than ever, we will
need to be guided by our higher self, that inner voice that
speaks to us from within.

There is no time for fear or worry.  To indulge in heavy
emotions that rob our energy is not only wasteful but also
injurious to the spirit.  A warrior that drains himself of
energy cannot survive well.

All education for your spiritual and physical well-being
needs to be accelerated. Balance is key.  Invest time and
resources to strengthen your spiritual connection.  And,
invest time and resources to protect your physical body
on every level.  In future e-mails, I will introduce you
to resources as I am inspired to do.

In this e-mail, I wanted to tell you about a video that
provides extremely interesting ancient knowledge about the
current times.   The presenter provides jewels of wisdom in
his two videos called The Mayan Calendar Comes North.  He
addresses the importance of developing your intuition during
these times.  It is definitely worth watching.

Invite a friend to watch it with you and discuss it.  Just
keep in mind that it is a very rare being who can accurately
make predictions about dates.

February 2011–A Powerful Time To Manifest Using Unbending Intention

Tuesday, February 1st, 2011

The main theme for February is Commitment.

It is time to get off the fence and really commit to your intentions and goals without the need to know how you will accomplish them. There has been a tendency to get bogged down in the need to know and the process of trying to understand whatever present situation you are in. The mind has entertained itself long enough with the creation of stories to try and get a handle on this understanding. All this processing and storytelling has thrown conditions into the mix and kept true commitment at bay. “I will commit to this if…..”

This is the month where the “ifs” or conditions around your intentions need to be put aside and relegated to a position of less importance. You know on an intuitive level what you truly want and it is only the fear of not getting it that keeps you hesitant to commit. It is the mind that comes up with the reasons that feed the fear and keep you imprisoned in your story. Are you willing to give up your story? Who would you be without your story? This is not an easy opportunity to deal with. It demands trust, courage and intuition. Use the aggression mode of the year wisely to cut through the bullshit of the mind and begin manifesting that which you have fully committed to. Remember that we are also in an emotionally centered time and headed for experiences that don’t necessarily make linear or logical sense.

For more details about the trends for 2011 (link here).

Belief systems are probably the most challenged this month as they create the foundation of our stories. Belief systems are anchored in the past and will continue to affect our future unless they are disconnected. They are instruments of the mind and only geared towards survival. They will continue to feed you false information until you examine them and give another instruction. This is a great time to examine your beliefs and see how absolutely divorced many of them are from what is really going on in the present. It is important to stay out of judgment as you realize how outdated your beliefs are and the enormity of what needs to change.

Everyone has specific beliefs about what will make them happy, healthy, loved, successful, well, tired, sick, sad, strong, stressed, depressed, anxious, relaxed, good, bad, responsible, irresponsible, forgiven, spiritual, productive, unproductive etc.. Take some time to examine each of these categories and ask yourself what your personal and specific belief systems are regarding each one. Sometimes it is easier to write in a stream of consciousness exercise unless you are able to do this with a partner where you simply express the stream of consciousness regarding each belief. This is not about judging anything to be either right or wrong. This is about uncovering what’s there so you can see what has been running the show. Emptying the mind in this way is very powerful and you will get to see where your fears are hidden. Belief systems are very limiting in that they constantly create the reasoning behind why you can or cannot do or be something or someone. There are many examples in history of people who have accomplished extraordinary things because they did not buy into the belief that they could not.

We have talked before about the power of the collective belief system that guides the evolution of all living things on the planet. In order to change the collective belief system, each individual must first change their own. It is the hundredth monkey effect that dictates that when enough individual belief systems have evolved to a less limited function, the whole collective will be free to evolve as well. So all of you out there that wish to be of service to the planet at this time can do so by working on your own belief systems.
Along with beliefs come expectations. Expectations are different from committed intentions as they are usually attached to a specific outcome. They are fed by your beliefs and their success or failure becomes part of your story. A true “don’t know mind” leaves a lot of room for your intentions to manifest in interesting and wonderful ways. When you commit to something one hundred percent, without the need to know how you will get there, the universe will begin to weave it creatively into the physical world.

All information about everything already exists in the quantum field and that information will respond to the instruction it gets that comes from unwavering commitment. The minute you try and control how something is going to happen you diminish the power behind the intention that is necessary for the quantum field to respond. And if you commit with conditions (I will do it “if”) the quantum field is a bit confused as to what you really want and will end up creating chaos from mixed messages. Sometimes you have to make a choice. Here is a good example of that. If you are involved in legal negotiations for damages for health reasons (accident, environmental pollution etc.), there is an attachment to your continuing to be in poor health as part of the argument. All the energy you are putting into the legal process is reinforcing the fact that your health and well-being are compromised. The quantum field takes that as an instruction from your belief system. You need to continue to be compromised in order to receive compensation. Therefore the other intention of actually getting well is clouded by the need to remain ill.

Regardless of the other players involved, you may have to examine your original motivation and intention and commitment. If your primary intention is to end up completely well then that is what you intend even if it comes to you in a different way than winning a legal battle over compensation. Beware of giving the field mixed messages. Committed intentions that are not compromised are indeed powerful and have the ability to become manifest almost overnight. If your intentions are compromised or clouded with doubt, mixed messages or conditions it will be much more difficult to see results.

We can’t stress enough the power of these times and what they afford to everyone in terms of opportunity if you can commit, stay in present time and get out of your mental trap that needs to know and control the how of things. You don’t need to know how, you just need to know what. In fact there is very little information available with regards to “how” these days. And what is available is outdated and doesn’t work. So be a pioneer of your own life and decide what you want. Then commit to it one hundred percent without the need to know how you will get there. The early explorers did not have a map. They followed their intuition and they followed signs. They paid attention and stayed present. Signs are different than conditions. You can always ask for signs to guide you so you know you are on the right track. Signs appear as support and provide synchronicity and magic. Conditions are what you place on your intentions that keep them from being fully committed.

Let’s talk about the aggression mode of the year as it relates to and will be filtered through the obstacles. This is something many of you will have to deal with perhaps on a daily basis and it may not be pretty. It will be important to stay out of judgment and to practice compassion and neutrality instead of reacting. All the obstacles will become more aggressive. For example someone who has martyrdom can become aggressively blaming and complaining and demanding; those in stubbornness, aggressively obstinate, argumentative and defensive; those in impatience, aggressively intolerant, dismissive and inconsiderate; those in self-destruction, aggressively destructive and self-destructive and belligerent; those in greed, aggressively hungry, hoarding and ungrateful; those in arrogance, aggressively going for attention and trying to make themselves special; and last but not least those in self- deprecation aggressively withdrawing, giving up, rejecting support and acknowledgement. Remember that self-deprecation is also one of the obstacles of the year and will be manifest by everyone in varying degrees. All the obstacles are nasty, do not serve spirit and will derail your good intentions and commitments faster than anything. So beware, try not to react to others and watch your own tendencies.

The Shamanic Journey–Going Beyond Meditation

Friday, December 31st, 2010

Throughout history, shamans and other wise men and women of knowledge have possessed the power to journey deep within to tap the universal source of information and wisdom.

Shamans have always known that the answers we seek can be found within. Bypassing the stumbling blocks of the outer, material world, they perfected techniques of accessing higher mind levels to find answers, gain insights and achieve profound understandings.

The shamanic journey is a technique for accessing higher mind levels to get answers on questions that are important to you, to gain insights and achieve profound understandings. It is a great tool also to use for training the body and mind to enter deep states of total relaxation. At a minimum, you will learn how to release stress and to help heal your total being.

A shamanic journey enables you to enter a meditative type state, but it is not really “meditation” as meditation is understood and used today. Most meditations are limited or ineffective. Common meditation practices require the person to sit or lie still, and when deeper levels of meditation are reached, the person falls asleep or is nearly comatose. Also typical meditation practices can not be used in a dynamic, moving way.

A journey is not an end result, but a bridge to the higher self-–a force that is always there to guide us. The objective is to avoid getting stuck on the bridge, as is the case with common meditations. You want to cross this bridge between the sub-conscious mind and the higher mind. Once you do, you need to be active rather than passive. That is, you want to ask for guidance, answers and any help that you deeply desire in your life.

Before beginning a journey, you are advised to focus on a specific question or a subject that you need help with. Your questions can range from the sublime, such as asking what you can do to become enlightened, to the most practical, such as asking about a work related issue.

Have a purpose for your journey. Imagine that you are going to talk to a very old wise man or woman. You will want to be patient, respectful, calm and receptive to everything this wise being has to say.

You can pose your question in one of these ways:

• Will this job offer be a wise decision for me and my family?
• How will the problems in my relationship be resolved?
• How can I make money in an easier and stress-free way that brings me greater happiness?

How A Typical Journey Is Done

Here’s a brief description of how a typical shamanic journey is done: When you are first learning to journey, you sit down or preferably lie down in a relaxing space. In the beginning, it is best to close your eyes and have relaxing music in the background to help you focus. You are guided to follow a relaxation process that includes breathing exercises and releasing body tension. You then imagine a place in nature, such as a forest or desert, where you walk down a path until you reach an entrance, such as a cave opening or an arch that is part of the earth. Once you walk through the entrance, you are guided to use all your senses as you enter a deeply relaxed state. As you journey, you pose a question that is important to you. By accessing a higher mind state, you access messages, insights and guidance that you may not access during normal waking states.

It is advisable to follow a step-by-step guide when you are first learning to journey. Once you train your mind to do shamanic journeys, you can journey by yourself at any time and any place, even while you walk.

The shamanic journey is used for communicating with your higher self–with Spirit. It is practiced to retrieve information from the higher realms of the mind. From ancient times, shamans have used the process of journeying to travel within to access answers, insights, guidance and help from the spiritual realm.

Below is an excerpt from the commentary.

The theme for December is MAINTENANCE.

This is a month of putting time and energy into all those aspects of your life that require maintenance at this time. Maintenance is not only about changing the oil in your vehicle or drain opener in your pipes, although that may be right on target for some of you. Maintenance also refers to your physical and emotional health, your home, your spiritual life, your relationships, your car, your things, your work environment, your routines, practices and disciplines. This is an excellent time to review what is out of balance or has been neglected and to take action or make a plan to take action. It is a good time to scrutinize your environment to notice what is broken or in need of cleaning, elimination or an upgrade.

December is characterized by an energy that is local, ordinary, somewhat inward and close to home. Keep good boundaries against putting too much expansion on your plate, as this is not the month for it. Look to what needs doing in your own back yard. Fix or upgrade the things you already have rather than expanding into new territory. The influences are pulling the energy inward and some of you may feel restricted or confined by it. Beware of impatience and becoming agitated or antsy around the illusion of limitation. Think instead of this time as catching up to yourself through the process of maintenance in the areas that need it.

Things in your life that do not function are an energy leak. If you have a broken toaster that is waiting to be fixed, either fix it or get rid of it. We learn to live with things around us that do not function. They get stuffed into a closet or put into the garage. Part of maintaining balance in your life is to address these items that are not functioning or are no longer useful and to do something about them.  They create dead weight and take up valuable psychic space. It does not matter what you paid for something or who gave it to you. The price of having these things around holding energy is not worth it. Either fix them and put them back into service or give them to charity or to someone who can fix and use them. A good formula if this task feels overwhelming is to take one thing every day and either fix it, take action to fix it or decide to eliminate it. How many items of clothing do you have waiting to be mended or waiting for a button to be sewn on? Do it or get rid of it.  Look in your closets and junk drawers and basements, attics and garages and just pick one thing every day.

Then take one thing everyday in your physical environment that simply needs maintenance like cleaning the fridge or your oven, or weeding out a bookcase or changing the oil in your car, and do it or take action to do it (like calling the housecleaners or making an appointment with your mechanic). Then take one thing that could use an upgrade and take an action step towards that upgrade. This could be buying a higher quality food item or something inspirational such as flowers for the table, or something to support your health. It could also include refreshing the paint on a wall or replacing a ratty piece of furniture. All of this activity sends a message to the quantum field that you are taking Maintenance seriously and you will definitely be rewarded for it.

An equally important part of the Maintenance theme this month is to look at the aspects in your life that need more from you at this time. If you have neglected your health due to a busy work schedule, this would be the time to do something about that. Whatever it is that you require for more balance should be included in your daily routine and program this month. Whatever you need more of, whether it be rest, exercise, healthy diet, a hair cut, teeth cleaning, body work, etc., work it into your schedule this month and make it a priority. Many of you have a tendency to put yourselves last. This is a month where you need to put yourselves first on the list of things to maintain. Since the influences of December are consolidating the energy towards self and the home front, always think of what is best for you and resist the tendency to want to please others. There will always be someone who is disappointed in your choices. Don’t take it personally and avoid reacting to the projections of others. Beware of your energy leaks. Identify them, eliminate them and focus on re charging yourself.

Some of the less obvious and more intangible areas requiring maintenance are the areas of relationships, personal growth, spirituality and intentions. Regarding relationships, this is a good time to make note of what relationships need some attention and to do what is required. If you have not been spending enough time with your family, pets, employees or good friends, this would be the time to remedy that. If unimportant people are unreasonably demanding of your time and energy, you may have to set some boundaries in order to maintain a balance. Pay attention to old relationships that cycle back into your life with unfinished business or karmic history. Do what it takes to get things back into balance. Be honest with yourself and others regarding where your responsibility lies and where it doesn’t. You can’t fix it for someone else, only for yourself.

The area of personal growth and spirituality has to do with your relationship to self. Only you know where you are in this area and what it means to you. Maintenance may include professional emotional help, the support of putting into practice bits and pieces you have collected over the years in the area of personal growth, and perhaps some discernment of what you do and where you go from here. Most of all it is important to pay attention to your emotional and spiritual well being, to practice good spiritual and emotional hygiene, and to do whatever you can to stay connected to spirit and to follow your own intuition. Don’t worry if you don’t feel like you are making any progress this month. This is not about feeling expansive and higher centered but rather about getting all your ducks in a row in preparation for what’s to come. All the work that is being done under the surface is creating a stronger and deeper foundation that will carry you through future times. And it does require attention, discipline and maintenance.

Your dreams, plans, intentions and desires also have to be maintained. If you have a practice of visualizing or affirming your intentions or setting goal or wish lists, this practice also needs maintenance and attention. Anything that becomes too much of a routine where you are no longer present with the process needs to be re evaluated. Try going over your practices in this area and re inventing them just slightly so they become more meaningful to you. Whenever you make a change, you are likely to be more present with the process until it becomes routine again. This is also a good month to re evaluate your current goals, intentions, dreams and plans to see if they are presently viable, appropriate or something you still really desire. Remember to make sure they are yours and not in consideration of someone else. You can never set goals and intentions for someone else, only for yourself.

The downside of this month is that you may feel overwhelmed with how far you have let things go in the area of maintenance. Don’t be hard on yourself. Take it one step at a time, do one thing at a time. Watch the tendency for procrastinating and make a little sign for yourself that says DO IT NOW. Watch self-deprecation as it wants to judge you for being so neglectful. It does not serve to wallow, complain or be depressed. These are energy leaks. Just do one thing at a time that does not feel overwhelming to you, like polishing a pair of shoes or doing your laundry. Remember that part of this practice of maintenance is symbolic therefore polishing a pair of shoes has an energetic ripple effect that will begin to form a pattern of momentum around other maintenance tasks. The other challenge this month could be a tendency to feel flat, bored, impatient, and like nothing significant is happening in your life despite the numerous activities of the day. You may feel like you are spinning your wheels especially if you are person somewhat addicted to the drama of high level activity. Relax, there is a lot happening in the mundane day to day and this is an important time to regroup, recharge, maintain and rebalance.

Below is an excerpt from the November commentary.

The main themes for November are RESOLUTION and HEALING.

You are held in an influence this month that will not let you slide back into unconsciousness about the issues you are dealing with that need to be resolved and healed. The intensity of October has lightened up a bit but you are at the point of no return with some of your personal patterns and wounds that are in front of you for looking at, coming to terms with, resolving and healing at the deepest level. There is no sweeping anything under the rug anymore. This month provides an unparalleled opportunity for being finally done with certain patterns that have plagued you perhaps your whole life. It is truly a time of forgiveness, completion, healing, transformation and moving on.

According to the Mayan calendar, we are moving into a day cycle early this month (November 3). This means that what has been actively seeking healing within you will come to the surface to be dealt with openly, compassionately, creatively and thoroughly. There is no escape from this process but the good news is that the influences are highly supportive to being able to navigate this level of resolution and deep healing. You could say that the timing is right for certain aspects to surface, and for you to have the courage to step up to the plate, to uncover, forgive, heal and move on. This is especially true in the area of relationships and the healing needed around certain relationships both current ones and ones from your past.

In this category of relationships fall the early childhood experiences that have deeply influenced how you navigate your life today. What keeps these influences in place is a basic fear of survival. Your early imprinting was designed to give you the tools for physical survival on the planet. The problem with this is that most of it no longer applies to who you are today. And yet this early childhood imprinting is still driving many of your current reactions, motivations and emotional responses. Many of you have known this and have been actively chipping away at its hold on you. This month you have the opportunity to actually get to the bottom of it and to yank it out by its roots.

What keeps these old patterns calcified in place is your resistance, blame, resentment, shame, stubbornness, martyrdom, disappointment, unwillingness to take responsibility, and lack of faith that anything can ever change. You need to start with completely accepting the concept that you created your grand plan and consciously chose every experience you had in this life. Then with the deepest level of compassion, forgive yourself for all the ways you believe you have not measured up to the task of your life. Then with the deepest level of compassion, forgive everyone else that became tangled in the great web of your grand plan for this life. Keep working towards eliminating the tendencies that keep these patterns stagnant and perpetuating.

What may come as a surprise to many of you is just how easy it is to let go and heal when you finally step off the edge and do it. You may wonder why it took you this long. Timing is everything, and the timing, the influences, the opportunity and the understanding that comes with resolution and completion are all available right now in a clearer more compassionate way than they have ever been before. This is a big boon for relationships of all kinds. In fact there will be a great desire to spend time with family members over the holidays and you may find yourselves feeling a need to heal certain issues within yourselves as a way to bring them to resolution and neutrality. Remember that you can only heal yourself, never another person. However, as older souls you have the ability to set up the stage so to speak, where healing and resolution become possible. You may also find that old relationships surface from your past. They may come into your dreams or you may come across an old correspondence or you may literally hear from them or possibly even run into them unexpectedly. Watch carefully for coincidences and take everything as a sign for further investigation. The completion/resolution theme is a strong one this month and relationships are only one area this will be evident.

Other areas that will seek resolution and completion may be regarding old habits and addictions, body image, coming to terms with aging or an illness or condition, making a choice to let go of an old dream or intention you have been identified with, or finally making a decision about something you have been indecisive about. The areas could include career, finances, investments, job, location, health and well-being, partnerships and all manner of relationships, spiritual life, responsibilities and new intentions. You may finally decide that you are never going to fix the project in the garage that has been sitting there for 10 years and let go of it. You may finally accept and come to terms your weight and body image the way it is and get rid of all those clothes that are the wrong size, or you may decide to take responsibility and do whatever it takes to change it. You may decide you will never finish the college degree or perhaps that you will. Completion is not always about finishing something. It is about finishing whatever process you are in with it. Giving half done sewing projects to Goodwill is definitely a type of completion. The healing that comes from this type of resolution is a deeper acceptance of you without the judgments and the expectations. It is time to take the “someday” out of your vocabulary and give a date and time by when you will intend to resolve or complete those unfinished things, relationships and issues.

The influences this month are more on the feminine side with the intense moving centered activity backing off and giving way to a more feeling environment. Being around water and anything that feeds and nurtures will be very helpful. Comfort foods, staying warm, being protected and part of a community are all elements that will serve you well. This is not the month to push yourself out onto a new ledge of challenge but rather to stay with what is already on your plate and to go as deeply into it as possible for the maximum resolution and healing. This in itself will take a tremendous amount of courage but the reward will be an incredible sense of freedom, abundance, creativity and personal expression.

One of the main tasks this month is to free the mind of mental worry, anxiety and stress. There is a great opportunity to actually experience how mental worry, anxiety and stress don’t accomplish anything and how eliminating them will lead to higher levels of creativity and joy that will end up actually helping you to create the very things you were worried and anxious you couldn’t have. To get to this point you have to literally give up. Just give it up. Give it to spirit because you can no longer figure it out. There is deep healing in just simply letting go. Life is creating itself now from a level of vibration that the mind has not yet adjusted to but is nevertheless trying to understand and control. The feminine aspect of the month supports moving away from the mind and into the heart, away from the “doings” and more towards “being”. This does not mean you won’t accomplish anything. This is still a very active time. It just means that the platform or foundation that supports your activities should be one of ease and flow and trust and balance.

One of the main themes of our times and one of the main tasks related to this theme is that of healing the relationship between the masculine and the feminine. For centuries in our timetable this experiment of separation has produced a tremendous wounding and imbalance between these two energies. We are just beginning to scratch the surface of this major theme and this month is a good place to start with allowing for the healing of your own wounds related to either one or both. Remember to have compassion, to come from forgiveness no matter how challenging that may be, and to stay out of the obstacles especially martyrdom, arrogance, stubbornness and impatience. Take responsibility for your own karmas, complete and resolve issues whenever possible, and allow yourself to heal at the deepest level possible. This is very much a time that supports serving yourself. Know what is yours to heal and what isn’t yours to heal. Allow others to be where they are in their process. Take care of your own backyard.

How the month shows up:

This is a huge category this month as most unresolved issues or deep wounding have to do with other people. This is where the forgiveness and compassion come into play as well as the approach from the place of total responsibility for creating whatever it is that you experienced in this life. Many unresolved issues that still carry resentment, anger, blame or disappointment have to do with expectations. Expectations are a thing of the mind built on a story or a picture and they are usually not related to anything you are experiencing in the present. To be disappointed you have to have a comparison, a point of reference from the past and a judgment attached to it. In relationships you are always comparing and therefore judging and expecting. This is a good month for relationship recapitulation. You may want to make a mental list of those relationships from your past that still hold some unresolved issues for you; things you cannot let go of that are attached to an old expectation. The sooner you come into acceptance with compassion and forgiveness, you can come into resolution and healing resulting in freedom. Imagine that! Once you are free, you will stop recreating the same old thing.

The other side of this issue is to take responsibility for ways in which you have allegedly disappointed others. Ask yourself if this is their projection onto you or if you feel disappointed in yourself. If you feel disappointed in self, take responsibility and have compassion and forgiveness for yourself. Remember, another cannot heal you just as you cannot provide healing for another. You can only heal yourself. How many of you are still waiting for a father or a mother or a sister or brother or an ex lover or friend to say, “I’m sorry”? Say those words to yourself with compassion and forgiveness for creating whatever experience that caused your wound. And stop waiting for affirmation from the outside that you were right. Being “right” is really overvalued and there is no such thing anyway. Be neutral. That is the best position and the one affording the greatest power, presence and freedom. Especially practice neutrality around another’s projections. Beware of being captured by any projection or judgment or label that someone else wants to put on you, positive or negative.

October 2010–Intensity: Breakthroughs or Breakdowns

Saturday, October 2nd, 2010

The main theme for October is intensity.

Below is an excerpt from the October commentary.

Everything this month is amplified, paving the way for
stronger reactions and increased sensitivity. It’s as if the
100 watt light you are used to operating under just got
turned up to 1000 watts. The resulting light intensity would
take some getting used to. This intensity has been with us
to some degree all summer through various themes and the
veil that has kept us asleep and in the dark has been slowly
coming off. But now that veil is completely coming off
exposing us fully to the intensity.

Some of us will instinctively try to turn away and retreat
even deeper into a dark shell. But there is no escape. As
in childbirth there is now full dilation and a need to stay
focused in order to push through our own birth.

This birth is a birth of higher consciousness bringing with
it many gifts for those who choose to be awake and proactive
instead of staying asleep. There is potential to increase
our understanding of the different planes of existence, the
quantum field, and how the universe works. There is
potential for greatly increasing telepathy, seeing,
channeling, healing and other practices using altered

There is finally an opportunity for beginning the
necessary integration of the higher centers (higher
intellectual, higher emotional, higher moving) with the
intellectual, emotional and moving centers, in order to
achieve greater and more regular access to levels of higher
consciousness. The higher centers are the gateways to higher
consciousness and those of you who have been doing practices
to increase your consciousness will be greatly rewarded this
month. You may experience sudden breakthroughs or
opportunities that were not available before. Take advantage
of what is showing up.

The sun is a barometer for intensity. The sun itself as a
being is going through its own changes and increases in
intensity. Since our evolution is being guided in part by
the sun, we are affected by the changes the sun is going
through. There is an energetic radiation that is designed to
help eliminate the cancers of lower vibration material,
forcing us to look at our attachments to old patterns and
non-serving behaviors. In a way, the parental energies of
the sun (father) and the earth (mother) are holding the
container for our rebirth at this time. As the influences
this year have been more masculine or yang, the solar theme
has been more prominent. In the near future we will shift to
a more feminine set of themes for balance.

What if you could see more, taste more, smell more, feel
more sensations, be more emotionally empathetic, experience
stronger telepathic communication, and feel generally
enhanced in your awareness of everything? What if every
moment of your day unpacked itself into a whole experience?
This is what is available to you should you choose to be
awake. Waking up requires a 100% commitment and turning your
back on everything that is not of spirit. It requires a
willingness to embrace the intensity of the moment
regardless of what it is bringing or feels like at the time.
Staying awake takes focus, responsibility, acceptance and

What is necessary to move into intensity in a positive way
is the elimination of any imprinting based on past
experiences or learned behavior that has “intensity” meaning
something negative, harmful, hard to deal with, painful,
victimizing, hurtful or devastating. This is a tall order
but if you set your intention to begin the process and if
you catch yourself when reacting fearfully or negatively to
an intense situation, you can shift your perceptions and
stay present, focused and neutral. If you can begin by not
judging anything intense as good or bad but simply and
neutrally intense, that is a start. Remember that in this
illusionary game of life, we are entering the place of
higher stakes, a time of initiation into a higher
consciousness, if we choose to play.

On the other hand, if fear has you by the throat, you could
experience an intensity that drives you even further into
negative states of depression, anxiety, pain, anger and
resentment. If you find yourself martyred and complaining,
you will feel your victimization with increased intensity.
Everything is enhanced and magnified. So if you are angry,
you will be hugely angry; if you are worried, those worries
will seem overwhelming; if you are dissatisfied or find
fault with something, that fault will seem magnified and out
of proportion. This pertains also to finding fault with or
judging the self. So if you are in a funk, the funk will be
intense. However if you are in gratitude and appreciation
and trusting in spirit, you may very well find access to
those higher centers and be astonished at how well your life
unfolds. What if the intensity were channeled into joy,
love, connectivity, creativity, satisfaction and well-
being? The choice is always yours so choose well.

Since this month supports completions you may wish to review
your responsibilities and see if they still hold true.
Eliminate anything you don’t want magnified or intensified
and let spirit do the rest. You make the rules, so as long
as they are in alignment with spirit, it is time to put them
up on the board.

This month is marked by high drama. Intensity always brings
out the drama in events, relationships and experiences. You
are likely to see high drama unfolding around you as others
process various forms of intensity. Have compassion rather
than judgment and be neutral in your involvement. The more
reactive you are to drama, the more you feed it. Focus
rather on the positive aspects of opening the senses and
living a fuller daily life. Drama usually means a reaction
out of proportion. Don’t go there. Don’t play. Save your
energy. Remember that drama is an energy leak and this month
it is highly important to track your energy leaks and
eliminate those you can. You want to be able to channel your
energy into positive thoughts, feelings, intentions and
actions. So stay away from drama whenever you can.

There is great wisdom available to all of us at this time
should we choose to act our age. It is tough to shake off
the cultural and planetary imprint of greed, competition,
unworthiness and struggle. But it is time to transition from
that paradigm to something a bit user-friendlier. Since this
is a time of transition there is support for completions,
new choices and putting old tired ways behind us. What have
you created over and over and over again that does not serve
you? Be done with it. Give it over to the WEST and to
spirit; mourn its death and move on.

Most of us have been trapped in the prison of our own
limitations and the illusion that we have no choice.
We rely on our mind’s definition of time and space, what
is possible and what isn’t. Now we are being challenged to
set the security of the illusion aside and trust something
we have not yet experienced. How do you know everything will
be OK? You don’t “know” but you can imagine, intend, trust and
surrender. In a way you have no choice. Evolution only goes
in one direction.

Always beware of how and where you focus energy during intense
times. Every thought, word and action has its repercussions, so
take responsibility for your attitude and what you put out
there. Stay away from conflict and always come from love and
compassion. If you keep the practice of perceiving everyone
as spirit, you are much closer to those higher centers and
the gifts they offer.

Being present and paying attention with your eyes and ears
open will keep you from getting sideswiped by something
unpredictable. We are still in the influence of sudden
unpredictable events and if you are not paying attention
they can throw you off balance. To be proactive with the
intensity of the times always turn around so you are facing
what is coming. Never turn your back to the ocean as a
sleeper wave can come and take you out to sea. Never turn
your back on a challenge, responsibility or opportunity
especially if you wish to have some say in the outcome.
Being present is being awake. Start tracking your habits of
going to sleep. Are you on autopilot when you are driving a
familiar route? Are you on automatic when you are walking a
familiar path? Do you go to sleep when you are in familiar
physical surroundings? The mind tends to rob one of being
present by grabbing the attention with its worries and
constant planning. Try staying present for periods of time
during the day so you are attentive and focused only on the
task you are doing. Notice every detail of your
surroundings, and engage all of your senses. Whether you are
cooking, shopping, walking, driving, relaxing, cleaning,
working or playing, spend some time every day being present
in a way that you encourage and channel the intensity into a
higher centered experience. Put into a daily practice some
form of focus on opening the senses and heightening your
awareness. You will be rewarded.

How the month shows up:

This is a month of personal transformation, healing,
completion and breakthrough. Using the intensity proactively
and wisely will produce certain results. Whatever needs to
be healed in your life will come up intensely. You may be
highly emotional one minute, quick to anger the next, and
then suddenly feel such a heart opening and gratitude that
you don’t know how to hold it all. What may come up for
healing are any issues around the masculine or feminine
wounds you may still have. This month is supportive in
beginning the process of healing these two energies. It is a
planetary theme. You may also feel you need to take some
time for yourself this month. Quiet, silence, meditation,
contemplation are necessary for aligning yourself with the
positive aspects of the month. Don’t get lazy. Get present.

All the areas of your life are affected by intensity; your
health and physical body, your emotional life, all your
relationships, your perceptions, your work and pretty much
everything you do. You may have choices to make and
challenges to face. Always ask for help. If you are a
control freak that always needs to know and always tries to
second guess what will happen in the future and is always
thinking, processing, planning and worrying, you may be
intensely frustrated and intensely crazed. Shut the mind off
and “put it all down”. The same goes with your attachments.
Don’t be disappointed when plans change or something does
not go as you thought it should. Be grateful ahead of time
for whatever opportunity this change has provided.

For some of you this month will be incredibly inspiring,
higher centered and feel like the big reward for all of your
hard work and discipline and practices. For others it may be
excruciatingly intense, overwhelming and difficult. If you
are feeling the negative aspects of this intensity, begin by
eliminating drama, energy leaks, mental judgments,
attachments, worries and fear. Stop complaining, take
responsibility, become neutral and practice gratitude.

There is lots of healing possible in all relationships. As
we are in a larger theme of healing the masculine and
feminine, whatever needs to be healed between these two
aspects will come up for you personally as well as globally.
This is a long-range issue and a theme we will be working
with for some time. However, due to the intensity of the
month and the support for bringing to the surface what needs
to be healed, be prepared for your own wounds to surface.
Beware of reacting in negative ways to any intensity in your
relationships. Emotions may be high and irrational, and
reactions dramatic. Remember to take responsibility for what
you may be feeling as it is your own issue. Stay away from
blame. Practice compassion for yourself and others and
always come from love. There is much healing that can happen
this month if you allow it. Don’t let stubbornness and a
need to be right get in the way. Get help if you need it.
On the other hand, this is a spectacular time to strengthen
and deepen real essence connections with others. Since
everything is enhanced through the higher centers you have
an opportunity to move into an experience of deeper
connectivity, recognize agreements and go straight to the
essence of a person, bypassing the shield of their
personality. You also have the opportunity to heighten your
telepathic communication with others and to perceive the
truth. The experience of oneness is what older souls crave
and it is certainly possible to experience this month.

The environment will continue to surprise us. Just when we
think we have a trend predicted, it will change. More and
more we are learning that it is our collective belief system
that influences what happens in the environment. If enough
people believe something strongly, it is likely to occur, as
we are a highly creative species. The best strategy is to
keep a “don’t know mind” and a great deal of neutrality
regarding weather patterns, earth phenomena, and the
environment in general. Focusing on the negative aspects of
who did what and when to damage the environment does not
help. What helps is feeding the environment with
appreciation through heightened sensitivity and gratitude
for the incredible planet we live in. And as usual we will
remind you to be flexible in your plans and neutrally
accepting of what comes. Disappointment only occurs when
there is expectation. So instead of expectation with some
attachment to the outcome, have a strong intention to have a
spectacular experience however the environment supports it.

Because of the high intensity of solar energy this month, we
could see some solar flare activity and some irregularity in
the tides. High solar energy needs to be balanced with water
so be around water this month if you can. If not, then work
with water as an element of the feminine and a support to
your emotions. Baths, hot springs, water features, ponds and
fountains are all alternatives to actually being in and
around larger bodies of water.

Kidneys and adrenals are stressed this month as well as the
liver and spleen, especially if you tend towards anxiety or
worry. Trying to hold on to your mental controls is hard on
the physical system. Think fluidity, neutrality and calm
acceptance. Find ways to practice relaxation in the midst of
turmoil and intensity. The physical body is going through
changes. As the vibration on the planet increases in
intensity, the body becomes more sensitive to its
surroundings but also more receptive to energies and
treatments that can put it back into balance. This is a good
time to redefine what healing means and to dispel the myths
about how long something takes. Part of the outdated belief
system and paradigm has us on a time schedule of
development, aging, healing and recovery.

As the body becomes more aligned with the higher centers,
its ability to function at a higher level of consciousness
will also increase. What we call miracles will become standard
procedure as we learn to work with the quantum field and to
